Ashley E. Chase,

Ashley has lived in Tecumseh his entire life. He is the son Sheldon and Mildred Chase. His great-grandfather married the sister of Laura Haviland, the renowned abolitionist who was an important figure in the history of the Underground Railroad. Ashley has been married to Linda Johnson Chase for 65 years and together they have three children, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He worked at Tecumseh Equipment Company (as an accountant) for 26-and-a-half years (nine years as part owner) and was a print estimator for 19 years. He was treasurer of his church for 26-and-a-half years, and a past president and treasurer of the Tecumseh Rotary Club; he is a life member of the Tecumseh Area Historical Society and a member of the Lenawee County Historical Society.

Linda has worked as a designer for more than 40 years, beginning her career at a local printer, then as the owner of Hewlett Graphics for more than 20 years. Her interest of photography, historical architecture and Tecumseh history, lead her to pursue this project to help Ashley Chase preserve his amazing knowledge of Tecumseh history and his extensive photo archives in print for future generations to enjoy. She worked for the City of Tecumseh as its Marketing Coordinator for 12 years, retiring in 2021. She is the daughter of the late Russell and Ilene Pilbeam of Britton. She has been married to Paul Hewlett for 38 years and together they have two children.
Kerry is a life-long resident of the Tecumseh area and has worked as a writer, editor, and manager for nearly 40 years, retiring from the Tecumseh Herald and Homefront Magazine in 2019. She has a keen interest in Tecumseh history and her family’s genealogy; she is a sixth generation Tecumseh area resident. Her English and Irish ancestors (Langthorne/Murphy) arrived in the Macon-Tecumseh area by 1850. She is a proud dual citizen of the United States and Ireland and is the daughter of Jo Ann “Susie" (Kampmueller) Hamilton and the late Wm. Dean Hamilton. She has been married to Randy Smith, formerly of Britton, for 40 years. They have two daughters and two granddaughters.
